Der junge Springreiter Jan Wernke konnte bereits mit 15 Jahren seinen ersten S-Sieg verbuchen und bekam mit 19 das Goldene Reitabzeichen verliehen. Nach einer abgeschlossenen Ausbildung als Groß- und Außenhandelskaufmann macht er nun eine Bereiterlehre im Sportpferdestall seines Vaters. Jan konnte sich auch international einen Namen machen: Einer seiner größten Erfolge war die Mannschaftsvizeeuropameisterschaft in Auvers/FRA sowie die Qualifikation zur Europameisterschaft 2008, an der er aufgrund einer Verletzung seines Pferdes nicht teilnehmen konnte. Im Jahre 2009 startete er dann endgültig durch in Springprüfungen der schweren Klasse und konnte unter anderem das Buddelei Zeitspringen in Rastede für sich entscheiden.

The young show jumper Jan Wernke had his first win in the most difficult class of jumping with the age of 15. He became his “Goldene Reitabzeichen” when he was 19. After he had finished his job training for external trade he apprenticed as horse trainer to the sales stable of his father. One of Jan’s biggest results was the 2nd rank on European Championships with the German Team in Auvers/FRA. He has also been qualified for the European Championships in 2008 but his horse got injured so that Jan could not start. In 2009, he finally succeeded in international jumping competitions by winning the Buddelei International Competition against the clock, Rastede/GER amongst others.
